Day #3653Title: Breakfast With Friends
Location: Ramsden Heath, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Although Alistair and I are both still getting over festive ailments, we were well enough to take ourselves to a geocaching breakfast meetup locally this morning. It was a great sociable event, and nice to catch up with friends I’ve not seen in a while. And there we have it, the last of my 365 images for 2017!

Day #3618Title: Breakfast Meetup At The Mill
Location: Battlesbridge, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 7-14mm f/4 Lumix G Vario
Notes: Finally got out of the house today, to meet some geocaching friends for a late breakfast in the café on the top floor of Battlesbridge Antiques Centre. There was a good turnout and an excellent breakfast awaiting. Although it was rather cold and windy, the sun was out, so I enjoyed finding a few caches with friends afterwards.

Day #3591Title: Slate & Bracken
Location: Fulneck, Pudsey, West Yorkshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I’ve been away for almost three weeks in Newcastle and Leeds, but today it was time for me to head home at last. Of course, while I was in the area, I made the most of the daylight to find some geocaches I particularly wanted to seek out, and then did most of the drive in the dark. I don’t mind particularly, especially as my new car has much better lights than the old one, which were a bit dim at times. One of my first stops today was in Fulneck, a little suburb of Pudsey, where I found this delightful yellowed bracken framed rather nicely against the contrasting grey slate.

Day #3585Title: Round The Rugged Rocks
Location: Cullercoats, North Tyneside
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: The shorter days are beginning to draw in now, so we had to make the most of the daylight before the clocks change. Our outing today started at Silver Link Country Park for a few caches, then onto the seaside at Cullercoats. It was a bit windy again here (a theme running through this trip North!) but the golden evening light was very pleasant. I liked this view around the rugged rocks, but we didn’t spot any ragged rascals. We rounded off our day with a slap up Fish & Chip supper in Tynemouth.

Day #3581Title: Four Sheep And A Cairn
Location: Cleveland Way, North York Moors
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I was after a couple of caches with specific difficulty and terrain combinations today. We bagged the first with the aid of a collapsible ladder in a tunnel under the A19. The second was up this glorious hill in the North York Moors – rather a slog to get up there, but worth it for the views when we did. It was a bit misty, but we found a lot more than just sheep – even spotting some grouse hiding in the heather. Thankfully the cache itself wasn’t a difficult find – it was just guarded by more sheep.

Day #3578Title: It’s Behind You!
Location: Chopwell Woods, Northumberland
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Alistair and I met up with caching friend Mick for a roam around Chopwell Woods today. Much fun and laughter, and we found a few boxes too.

Day #3574Title: A Race For One!
Location: Herrington Country Park, Co. Durham
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: It was a lovely sunny day today (if a bit windy) so Alistair and I decided to head to Herrington Country Park and the Penshaw Monument to find some caches. He loves running around even when I just walk along at a steady pace – and when we found this lonely skateboard park, he couldn’t resist having a jog along the curved walls. Silly fool!
