Day #3632Title: Winter Postcard From Galleywood
Location: Galleywood, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: We haven’t had a decent snowfall in Essex for a few years. There were light dustings on Day #3300 (Jan this year) and Day #2591 (Feb 2015) but it didn’t hang around for long. I think Feb 2013 was the last time we had enough to grind things to a halt for a little while! I woke up this morning to about 1cm but it carried on snowing heavily for a couple of hours, and by the time I went out for a walk up to Galleywood (leaving the car safely sleeping under its white blanket), there was about 5-6cm of accumulation. It looked very pretty as usual. But I was seriously wondering if I was getting frostbite at one point, as my toes had gone from painfully cold to completely numb, despite two pairs of socks on in my wellies. Eventually I managed to coax enough feeling into them to walk home! We are possibly expecting more tomorrow, which is a pain because I need to go to London and it will probably cause chaos on the trains. Thus endeth my note for Treasure Hunt Theme #49 – Postcards.

Day #3571Title: Ironmongery
Location: Tattershall, Lincolnshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Today I was on a geocaching mission around Lincolnshire. I’m on my way up to Newcastle for a couple of weeks and decided to break the journey over two days, finding some tupperware along the way which I don’t normally have time to stop for. One of my first ports of call was the pretty village of Tattershall, with a Medieval castle and charming church. This was the inside of the church door. I loved the patina on the metal and wood. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #36 – Handles.

Day #3554Title: Church End Evening
Location: Church End, Bedfordshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I did quite a bit of roaming today, firstly attending a geocaching litter-picking event in Letchworth and then going on to find some other caches around Bedfordshire. I finished my hunt a place called Church End in Bedfordshire, which had this rather picturesque view, before the long drive home.

Day #3500Title: Get Thi’Sen There
Location: Little Canfield, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Today’s geocaching outing was to Little Canfield where I had a great cycle and walk around a big trail of boxes. All but one found, it was hard work but a lovely day in the end.

Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS

Day #3414Title: In Memoriam
Location: North Ockendon, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: This morning was a bit grey and overcast, but I stopped off to find a geocache at the Church in North Ockendon before heading into work from Upminster tube. These colourful silk flowers brightened up the scene.

Day #3392Title: Holy Trinity Bengeo
Location: Bengeo, Hertfordshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I had fun today geocaching with mad friend Ian. We went to Hertfordshire and then Buckinghamshire to collect some caches we had both wanted to visit. On the way we passed this lovely old church in Bengeo, where there was a film pot lurking – one of over 10,000 “Church Micro” geocaches alive in the world.
