Day #3571

Day #3571Title: Ironmongery
Location: Tattershall, Lincolnshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Today I was on a geocaching mission around Lincolnshire. I’m on my way up to Newcastle for a couple of weeks and decided to break the journey over two days, finding some tupperware along the way which I don’t normally have time to stop for. One of my first ports of call was the pretty village of Tattershall, with a Medieval castle and charming church. This was the inside of the church door. I loved the patina on the metal and wood. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #36 – Handles.

Day #3550Title: Wibbly Abstract
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: It got late and I realised I hadn’t done a picture for the day. Ah, an abstract bit of glass.

Location: Westminster, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: I’ve passed these shadows on the door many times over the past few weeks. Today was the day when they were in the right place for a photograph.

Day #3366Title: Welcome To Wilton’s
Location: Whitechapel, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: After my conference had finished this afternoon, I had a Travelcard burning a hole in my pocket, so I decided to make the most of the remaining daylight and go hunting for a few geocaches before travelling home. One brought me here, to Wilton’s Music Hall, a fantastic old building in the heart of Whitechapel. It has a very chequered history, but has recently been restored and is now the oldest surviving music hall in the world. I loved the faded grandeur of the outside, it would be great to get a look inside the building sometime.

Day #3301Title: The Red Door At No. 4
Location: Witham, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Lensbaby Composer Pro / Double Glass Optic 50 mm f/2
Notes: I had a couple of errands to run in Witham today. The snow had started to melt, despite another covering this morning, so the roads were very slushy. By the time I had finished my chores and continued my little walk, the sun had come out. Now I’m always a sucker for a red door, and this one just screamed to be photographed. The rather majestic lion knocker stared at me impassively as I sized him up. A perfect find for Treasure Hunt Theme #30 – Fill The Frame With Red. (I tried cropping off the door frame on the left but it just looked rather odd and cramped, so the frame remains mostly red.)
