Day #3625

Day #3625Title: Through The Long Grass
Location: Wivenhoe, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 45mm f2.8 Leica DG Macro-Elmarit ASPH
Notes: There wasn’t a lot of sun to be had today, but I did find a little splash of colour in my parents’ garden when I went to visit for lunch. The grasses in a pot on the patio were an interesting foil for the pinky-red leaves behind.

Day #3561Title: Corrugated Abstract II
Location: Burwell, Cambridgeshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I was in Burwell today for a geocaching event. We picked up lots of litter around the village and I found a few caches along the way. I spotted this abstract pattern along a footpath – I loved the textures and patterns on the corrugated iron and paint.

Location: King’s Cross, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I’ve been looking round for a suitable image for Treasure Hunt Theme #50 – Posters. Today in London, I spotted this.

Location: Halstead, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: More monochrome shadows for today’s shot, this time in Chelmsford. I liked the contrast in shapes and lines here.

Day #3420Title: Behind The Fence
Location: Newcastle, Tyne & Wear
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Alistair and I went for a walk along by Segedunum today. One side of the path lies the ruins of the old Roman fort. The other side, the ruins of the old Swan Hunter Shipyard. Sad to see both in demise. A good metaphor for Treasure Hunt Theme #32 – Gone To Seed.

Day #3401Title: Wisteria On The Fence
Location: Elmstead Market, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I spotted these lovely flowers poking over a fence as I took a quick walk around Elmstead Market today. It contrasted rather well with the blue sky behind.

Day #3391Title: Iron-Clad Tree
Location: Noak Hill, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: This curious iron-clad tree was one I spotted during a little bike ride to find some geocaches today. I’m not sure if the metalwork was supposed to keep the tree together, it looked rather odd but has clearly been like that for many years.
