Day #3627

Day #3627Title: LED Patchwork
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Lensbaby Composer Pro / Double Glass Optic 50 mm f/2
Notes: The weather has turned rather grotty and there wasn’t any interesting light during the day, so I waited until dark fell and took a wander around some of the neighbours’ houses looking for some Christmas lights to play with a bit of ICM. I liked the different patches of colours in this one, and thought it would make a good shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #45 – Patchwork.

Day #3602Title: Red Maelstrom
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I wish I could take the credit for carefully composing this ICM shot but it turned out to be a happy accident. I liked the feel of it anyway.

Day #3510Title: Ferns In The Woods
Location: Birching Coppice, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: It was good to get out for a walk today. I headed towards Toot Hill for a few more geocaches along The Essex Way. Birching Coppice is a lovely tranquil wood and I decided to try something a bit different for today’s picture. Lots of ICM waving later, I was happy with this image, where you can still see the ghostly ethereal shapes of the ferns, as well as the stronger trees. It makes a great image for Treasure Hunt Theme #33 – Graceful.

Day #3330Title: Electric Pom-Pom
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 45mm f2.8 Leica DG Macro-Elmarit ASPH
Notes: I had another play with the LED lights this evening, this time they were static and I moved the camera about. I liked the effect with this one, which I thought looked like an electric pom-pom waving about.

Day #3314Title: Dusk In Dystopia
Location: Barbican, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX7 / Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 Lumix G II ASPH
Notes: Several members of my Daily 365 group of Flickr have recently posted some rather effective landscape images with a touch of Intentional Camera Movement. I’ve not seen many landscape opportunities for my own pictures which would suit ICM, but today I was inspired to have a go at some shots in an urban environment. I was in London for an evening meeting and around dusk, when the lights are all coming on, is a great time to wave the camera around. This image was one of many taken from the Lakeside Terrace at the Barbican, looking across the water towards the little church of St. Giles, Cripplegate, dwarfed and surrounded by modernist high rise buildings on three sides. I thought the final picture looked rather like the fictional dystopian Gotham City, which seems to be coming alive before our eyes, across a rather bigger pond.
