Day #3864Title: Monthly MOC – July
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: This is Dolphin Point, a new Micropolis module I built the other day. The dolphin sculpture is a large feature in the grounds of this luxury block of apartments! You can’t miss it…

Day #3851Title: Lining Up The View
Location: Tynemouth, North Tyneside
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: We went for a windy walk along the harbour wall at Tynemouth today. The clouds were moody above the North Sea and the light was a little overcast, but I still love this view. The rusty rails are actually mounted on top of the wall, but I’m leaning the camera over quite a way to get the angle I wanted, making it look like they are huge. There had been some overnight rain, so the trough between the rails was puddled with water, adding an interesting line of reflection. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #53 – Pier or Jetty.

Day #3840Title: Cheesy Snack
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Another day spent trying to keep cool indoors. But it’s not working very well. One thing I find when it’s too hot is that I’m not very hungry, so this was a nice snack of tasty Double Gloucester cheese on bikkies – perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #20 – Cheese & Biscuits.

Day #3835Title: Family Outing
Location: Saltaire, West Yorkshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Today I went out to Hirst Wood in Saltaire with friends Tim & Carolyn and their toddler Bethany. We had a lovely potter about amongst the trees, followed by a walk along the Canal to Roberts Park and a great little picnic in the shade. I caught the three of them in the woods with this shot, perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #29 – Family.

Day #3834Title: A Visit To Bones Circus
Location: Manchester Central
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: After spending much of yesterday on busy roads, I abandoned my car and took the train to Manchester today, to visit Bricktastic 2018, a big LEGO show at Manchester Central. There were loads of inspiring models to look at, and plenty of friends (new and old) to chat with. All in all, a grand day out. This was a fantastic MOC showing a spooky haunted fun fair and circus with many moving parts including this carousel and a motorcycle Wall of Death! I didn’t catch the builders’ names but it was a family who had put it all together. It makes a great shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #32 – Fun Fair.

Day #3829Title: Monthly MOC – June
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I recently acquired a load of mermaid fishtails, so thought I better make use of them as architectural features in a Micropolis build. Thus, Mermaid House was born. A good example for Treasure Hunt Theme #6 – June Monthly Project.

Day #3826Title: Playground Hanging Basket
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I’m staying with great 365-friends Ken and Carolyn for a couple of days. Today Ken and I enjoyed a photographic potter along the prom at Worthing, despite the heat. I spotted this swing in a playground by the beach and thought it looked like an oversized (un-planted) hanging basket. And it makes a good candidate for Treasure Hunt Theme #17 – Basket.

Day #3821Title: Patio Impression
Location: Wivenhoe, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I visited Mum & Dad for lunch today to celebrate Fathers’ Day. Dad and I had fun playing with my LEGO Cargo Train (he’s a big model railway fan). This was made while I was waiting for the kettle to boil – a view out of their back door onto the patio, through the wibbly glass. I do love a good wibbly glass filter! A good shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #69 – Warped, visually, at least.

Day #3819Title: Farewell London
Location: Hammersmith, London
Camera: Apple iPhone 5s / Rear Lens, 29mm f/2.2 equivalent
Notes: A bittersweet Runrig gig tonight, attended with a couple of good friends from Chelmsford, who I’ve known since the late 1990’s. We “met” on the Runrig fan club’s email discussion list and have been friends ever since. This was Runrig’s last ever show in London, with one more in Manchester tomorrow and their final final hurrah in Stirling mid-August. They were sounding better than ever, but have decided they’re getting a bit long in the tooth to keep touring! Anyway, I decided to travel light, and just took some cash and my phone. How times have changed – even just a few years ago, taking photos during the show would have had you thrown out of the venue. But in these days of high quality cameras on phones, they would basically have to chuck everyone out! So I managed to make a few images on my phone during the show. With a slight twist, I decided this would fit the bill for Treasure Hunt Theme #48 – On The Phone.

Day #3816Title: Imposing Entrance
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Today’s shot shows you the imposing entrance doors to the LEGO Ninjago set, the Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon. I love the contrast between that vibrant red and the grey and navy colours. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #28 – Entrance.
