Location: At home

Day #3930Title: Multiplex Reflex
Location: FabLab, Sunderland
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: Alistair was able to finish work a little bit early today, so I headed over to FabLab in Sunderland to meet him and have a tour, then do some geocaching. While in the lab, I spotted a triangular tube with mirrored insides, and some Día de Muertos style skull art painted on a wall. This was the result of a bit of careful placement – all done in camera.

Day #3881Title: Windswept Life
Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I am making a flying visit to Newcastle for a couple of days on my way to/from Stirling for the weekend. A quick walkabout in the city centre near the Centre for Life this morning yielded this image – an off-beat take on 52 Weeks 2018 – Topic 7, A Lone Tree In The Landscape.

Day #3821Title: Patio Impression
Location: Wivenhoe, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I visited Mum & Dad for lunch today to celebrate Fathers’ Day. Dad and I had fun playing with my LEGO Cargo Train (he’s a big model railway fan). This was made while I was waiting for the kettle to boil – a view out of their back door onto the patio, through the wibbly glass. I do love a good wibbly glass filter! A good shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #69 – Warped, visually, at least.

Location: Wivenhoe, Essex
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 45mm f2.8 Leica DG Macro-Elmarit ASPH
Notes: I went to visit Mum today while Dad was out chasing steam trains at Ongar. The sun came out eventually and this rather lovely shadow of the Jasmine leaves appeared on the wall of their patio.

Day #3714Title: Cosy Now
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I woke up this morning to a cold house. What’s up!? The boiler was showing an error which, when Googled, suggested it was a frozen condensate pipe. Argh! I had a brief phone chat with my lovely plumber who advised the best way to thaw it out. So I then spent half an hour in the snow outside pouring hot water over the pipe from a handful of flasks. This task would have been easier were it not for the fact that half the 6ft run is on the wall behind my shed! I just managed to shove my arm (holding the flask) in between wall and shed to do the deed. Thankfully, the boiler woke up soon afterwards and I was toasty again! Phew. I’ve added a bit more lagging to the most likely place it froze, which will hopefully prevent a recurrence.
