Day #4291

Day #4291Title: Time To Leave Skærbæk
Location: Skærbæk, Denmark
Notes: I was the last to leave our little cabin today, as the others had headed off first thing to catch their flights back home. My journey would take me a little bit longer, however! First it would entail a drive from Skærbæk to Osnabrück in Germany today. And a meeting this evening with YouTuber friend Stefan and his family who live nearby. This is my trusty steed packed up and ready to roll outside the cabin. Follow the link for today’s other photos on Flickr.

Day #4289Title: Meeting Jakob @ Skærbæk Fan Weekend
Location: Skærbæk, Denmark
Notes: It was great to finally be able to meet Jakob, a YouTube friend who runs the Brick Bakery LEGO channel. As a Danish native, he lives not too far from Skærbæk, and visited for the day to do some interviews with various people for his channel, including me! We didn’t get a lot of time to hang out, but we made the most of it. Follow the link for my other photos from SFW on Flickr.

Day #4286

Day #4286Title: On Display, Masterpiece Gallery @ LEGO House
Location: Billund, Denmark
Notes: The day has finally come, after many months of anticipation! Today I set up some of my Micropolis MOCs in the Masterpiece Gallery of the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark. They will be on display for a year, along with amazing models from 14 other Adult Fans of LEGO from around the world. It’s probaby the highest accolade any AFOL could wish for – having the LEGO Group recognise your work and ask you to come to Denmark to set it up for thousands of guests to see over the next 12 months. We were looked after like true VIPs by the wonderful folks at LEGO House, including Stuart Harris, Birte Knudsen, Mike Ganderton and Jan Beyer. Thank you all, it was truly a day to remember! Follow the link for today’s other photos on Flickr.

Day #4284

Day #4284Title: LEGO Adventure Begins!
Location: Billund, Denmark
Notes: Lots more driving to be done today, mostly in Germany. There was a bit of a slog around Bremen and Hamburg, but eventually I reached the Danish border and felt like I was making headway! I finally reached my hotel in Billund in the early evening, hardly believing I had driven from the UK in just 2 days! Follow the link for today’s other photos on Flickr.

Day #4106

Day #4106Title: City Life
Location: At home
Notes: I’ve become very very behind with posting these images online (only getting around to it nearly a year later!). So I didn’t give the game away at the time, but I had some amazing LEGO news the other day – I’ve been invited to display some of my Micropolis models in the Masterpiece Gallery of LEGO House in Billund, Denmark – for a year, from Sept ’19 to Sept ’20. This image shows ome of the builds that I’m thinking of taking. I still can’t quite believe it!

Day #4075Title: Home Of The Brick
Location: Billund, Denmark
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I had a madcap day out to Billund, Denmark today, to visit The LEGO House – known as the Home of the Brick. As usual the travel was tiring and tedious. Once I was in Denmark however, I had a fantastic time. The House itself wasn’t crowded at all (it’s definitely off season at the moment) and I often had the exhibit spaces to myself, so was able to explore at my leisure. I also had the opportunity to find my first geocaches in Denmark, and had a walk around the town. So it was a lovely outing. Next time, I will go for more than a day!
