A Brace From Portmeirion

Seaside Arches Title: Seaside Arches
Location: Portmeirion, North Wales
Camera: Canon EOS 650 / Canon 28-70mm EF
Film: Ilford FP4 125
Notes: This lovely archway is right on the promenade by the river estuary at Portmeirion. I was attracted by the texture of the whitewashed walls which was emphasised by the angled lighting. Like most of Pormeirion itself, this has a strong Mediterranean feel, which the bight sunlight lived up to! The shadow under the arch looked like a cool and inviting place to put a seat, and to sit and admire the view over the hills and lapping water. This was one of the 10 images I used to gain my LRPS distinction in 1995.

Bristol Colonnade Title: Bristol Colonnade
Location: Portmeirion, North Wales
Camera: Canon EOS 650 / Canon 28-70mm EF
Film: Ilford FP4 125
Notes: The lovely warm stonework of the colonnade provided a perfect canvas for the sun to paint patterns of light and shadow. The gargoyle on the right seems to be standing sentry over the scene, and the flagged walkway gives a nice contrast to the smooth stonework above. Another one of the 10 images I used to gain my LRPS distinction in 1995.
