Day #161

Day #161Title: Face Down Tuesday – Walton Pier Edition
Location: Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 17-40mm EF f/4 L USM
Extras: Gorillapod / Self-Timer
Notes: I headed to the coast again today, to visit another three piers. This was at Walton-on-the-Naze before the beach got very busy in the afternoon. I found a quiet spot on the sea wall to have a nice lay down as the tide was just beginning to recede.

Day #159

Day #159Title: Getting Sand In My Sandals
Location: Felixstowe, Suffolk
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 17-40mm EF f/4 L USM
Extras: Gorillapod / Wireless Remote
Notes: I enjoyed a fantastically sunny trip to visit a couple of East Anglian piers which I haven’t visited before today. This was at the first, on the beach at Felixstowe in south Suffolk, before I headed to Harwich Ha’Penny Pier just across the River Orwell in Essex. These were the first two pier visits for my new photographic project, Piers Of The Realm.

Day #33

Day #33Title: The Tide Won’t Turn
Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 17-40mm EF f/4 L USM
Extras: Gorillapod / CamRanger
Notes: The weather forecast promised sunshine today, so I headed to the seaside at Clacton, with a packed lunch. I had a great walk along the prom and pier. Here you can see me attempting to stem the North Sea tide, but sadly I wasn’t any more successful than King Cnut!

Day #11

Day #11Title: A Blustery Day At The Beach
Location: Southwold, Suffolk
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Extras: Gorillapod / CamRanger
Notes: After a trip to Wex Photographic in Norwich today to spend some Christmas vouchers, I took a detour on the way back to the beach at Southwold. I arrived just as the sun was beginning to set, but managed a few shots on the beach before the light disappeared completely. I was in danger of playing chicken with the incoming tide too, but my CamRanger made the shoot quite quick, which was a bit of a relief!
