Chelmsford Photowalk #20

I do love the English weather. Most of the time!

Today was our Chelmsford Photo Walk visit to Maldon. Four of us trudged around in the rain and eventually gave up and went to the pub while it eased off a bit. It was supposed to be nice so I could celebrate the milestone of reaching Day #1000! Something I never intended to aim for, but somehow it just happened…

Here are today’s soggy images:

Frae Bonnie Scotland

Earlier in the year, I had grand plans to visit Japan this September, but for various reasons that didn’t come off. Instead, I bought myself a new camera and decided to take a trip up to the Western Isles of Scotland – somewhere I’d not visited since 2005. I spent 10 days touring the islands by ferry and car, and covered over 1,600 miles by the time I returned home.

You can see the full photoset on Flickr, but here I’ll present you with one shot each day from the trip which didn’t quite make it as photo of the day.

Future Plans

As you can see, there were plenty of beautiful landscape shots. I hope to be able to make another Blurb book from the best of my Scottish pictures in the near future – stay tuned! It will be a similar format and price to my very successful Essex Landscapes book from last year.

August ’10 Review

August was relatively quiet for photography. I did enjoy my week in Newcastle, despite the weather! We managed to get some interesting shots at the Newcastle Metro Gosforth depot open day event, particularly in the workshops:

Then it was off to Hartlepool to see the Tall Ships with some friends from the Newcastle Photowalk group:

Later in the week, despite the rain, there were a few moments of sunshine in the evenings, and we went for an excellent walk along the Quayside. Here are some of the best clouds around:

Later in the month, I also saw some spectacular clouds and light near Little Baddow one evening (August seems to be the month for clouds and storms!). This shot was a very close contender for Day #966:
