Today I travelled to the south coast to give my talk and demo to Brighton & Hove Camera Club. In Essex it seems like it’s been weeks since the sun last shone for any length of time. So when I noticed that the weather forecast for Brighton and Shoreham was going to be sunny for the afternoon, I made sure I drove down with plenty of time to spare. I parked up in Shoreham and enjoyed an afternoon’s wandering with the camera. My first stop was the view of the lovely old Toll Bridge (last seen on Day #1053) where I sat and ate my picnic. I spent a happy few minutes soaking up the sun and watching the light aircraft come into land at Shoreham Airport with Lancing College Chapel in the background.
A quick walk across the bridge and I was rewarded with some spectacular clouds over the River Adur:
Finally I made my way to the Saltings to look at the quirky houseboats along Shoreham Beach.
After a hearty Fish & Chip supper in Shoreham High Street, I headed off to Brighton to set up for the evening. It was good to see some sunshine – I can’t wait for Spring to spring properly!
