Southend Street Shoot

Posted by Caz on Sunday, 21st April 2013

I went to Southend-on-Sea today to make the most of the sunny weather, meeting up with some friends from GNPC for a street shoot. We wandered about along the promenade for a few hours enjoying the sunshine – at last it feels like Spring! A shelter along the Prom made it for Day #1938; I also chose a biker for my Mono post today. Here are some more favourites:

Bifurcation Inflation IndentationTitle: Bifurcation Inflation Indentation
Location: The Gibberd Garden, Harlow
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: This afternoon I visited The Gibberd Garden with Chelmsford Flickr Photowalk #44. The were many interesting sculptures to be seen dotted around the grounds. This one is called Bifurcation Inflation – I loved the way the surrounding trees were reflected in the shiny steel surface, and the distortions due to the indentation in the metal.

January ’13 – Review

Posted by Caz on Friday, 1st February 2013

I had a couple of outings during the month to make pictures. The first was a lunchtime stroll at Paper Mill Lock early in the month. Here’s another shot from that session:

We got quite a few days of decent snowfall during the month too – and on 22nd I took a “snow day” and did a 10-mile walk to Sandford Mill Lock and back into town along the canal towpath.

We didn’t have a Chelmsford Photowalk this month, due to folks being busy, so that was about it for outings during January.

In The Bleak Mid WinterTitle: In The Bleak Mid Winter
Location: Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation, near Sandford Mill Lock.
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: I did a 10-mile walk in the snow today, from home to Sandford Mill Lock and then back into town via Chelmer Village. It wasn’t quite as cold as this image suggests, but I was wrapped up well. I liked the rippled reflections in the canal waters.
