Location: Writtle Church, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: I love the old bits of ironwork found on ancient church doors. These two curly hinge decorations are a particular favourite at Writtle.
Clearly, the Face Down Tuesday phenomenon is quackers. And this just proves the point – down with the ducks at Writtle village pond. Thanks to Alistair for making the pic while I did the hard work. Quack! Quack! Mr Duck would be proud…

We had a roam around Writtle this evening with the GNPC photowalk folks. It was a pleasant walk and convivial company at the pub afterwards too. But before we ended up boozing we did visit the Church and make some interesting images inside. Here are the rest too.
Title: Curly Hinge
Location: Writtle, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: Another lovely old door hinge for the 50@50 today. Not quite as well kempt as the one in 50@50 #21. But bags of texture here, which was enhanced with a sepia treatment. Found during a GNPC Photowalk in Writtle.
Although October couldn’t possibly live up to the photographic potential of September, I’m still pleased with the images I made during the month. I really enjoyed having friends to stay who were sympathetic to spending time with a camera.
It was great to give something back with my coaching session in London and a mini photowalk afterwards.
And finally I splashed out on a new toy – which always tends to re-invigorate my photography somewhat!
