The guys enjoyed a walk around the pretty Essex village of Wivenhoe with me this evening. They liked looking at all the boat stuff, and were intrigued by all these ropes coiled up on the jetty, making shadows as big as them.

This evening the chaps decided they wanted to make a cocktail for themselves. I wasn’t sure if they would get the hang of it, but it seems like Cyril got stuck in and made sure it was all mixed correctly. I worry about the size of their hangovers tomorrow…
The guys are very competitive, even when given the most mundane of jobs. I asked them to help me by clearing up some large pebbles in the garden. Cyril was gutted that Stan had managed to build a pile from 4 stones, slightly higher than his pile of 3. Now, now, folks – play nicely!
They soon discovered an old tin bathtub in the cabin, so Stan decided he needed a nice hot bath to keep him warm before heading to bed. Hope you don’t rust, old chap! Cyril is being good enough to fill the tub from the kettle, but it could take quite a while.
During the daytime, it seemed such a good idea to head for the cabin. But as night fell, Cyril & Stan discovered that it gets really chilly in these parts after dark. So they had to resort to what they could find lying around to help them keep warm. Cyril is filling a hot water bottle which he’s going to put under his duvet. Meanwhile Stan has doubts that this jumper he found will actually fit him…
