Rennie Mackintosh And Cream Teas

Today was our last day in Scotland. The Domos came with me to Bellahouston Park this morning, to visit the House For An Art Lover. It was designed by famous architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1901 but not built until 1996. They loved the big piano in the Music Room, dancing out a Scottish jig on the ivories:

After absorbing so much culture, we decided to visit another famous Mackintosh location – the Willow Tea Rooms in Sauchiehall Street for some sustenance. As usual, Scotty, Sunny and Tarty were more interested in the delicious apple pie and cream than their surroundings!

Rail And Sail In Scotland

Today the Domos enjoyed a Rail & Sail adventure from Glasgow with me, visiting Rothesay and Dunoon to find some more piers. Scotty, Sunny and Tarty had fun on the train:

And then they sat on the top deck of the ferry, taking in the fresh air. It was a bigger boat than Sunny and Rummy sailed on at the start of Sunny’s visit!

Sunny Returns!

A couple of years ago, we hosted Sunny the Travelling Domo for a couple of weeks. My Domos had so much fun with him that they immediately put their names down to host another stay in Essex during his second circumnavigation of the globe. Sunny has been to many countries in the intervening period but today we are delighted to welcome him back!

As you can see, the Domos who greeted Sunny on his return were very excited to hear all his news and read his journal. They are hatching plans to take him to some interesting places while he is here. Watch this space!
